TRICONE ROTARY DRILLING BITS
TRICONE ROTARY BITS were first used in Oil Well drilling during
the 1930's. Since that time there have been numerous improve
ments in the design
and manufacture of these products. Today,
TRICONE ROTARY BITS are
among the most commonly used tools
in the drilling industry.
STEEL TOOTH BITS
STEEL TOOTH BITS are most commonly used in softer ground condi
tions.
These bits are normally limited to use in shallow hole applications.
Although many STEEL TOOTH BITS are available with Sealed Bearings,
the
vast majority of bits are supplied with standard Non-Sealed Bearings.
In general, STEEL TOOTH BITS are somewhat less expensive that TUNG-
STEN CARBIDE INSERT (TCI) BITS. In many cases they offer some ope-
rational advantages. For example, STEEL TOOT BITS are usually operated
at faster rotation speeds while using reduced drilling weight for effective
penetration
TUNGSTEN CARBIDE INSERT (TCI) BITS
TUNGSTEN CARBIDE INSERT (TCI) BITS are designed for a wide range of
drilling formations and conditions. Unlike STEEL TOOTH BITS, these pre-
mium quality tools are designed for maximum performance and drilling
production.
TUNGSTEN CARBIDE INSERT (TCI) BITS for oil field and water well drilling
applications usually feature SEALED JOURNAL BEARINGS. This feature is
designed to effectively lubricate and seal the bearings during the drilling
operation. This sealed arrangement assures consistent performance and
extended bit life. This is especially important on deep drilling projects. |
